sad.besides in my short life,any one who outrightly slams other drummers and is inobstensly opinionated(a great feature of being a young male in their 20's) has recieved a BAD dose of karma.a cosmic spanking,beware. these posts, like steve touched on, i dont know,ive loved posting and communicating over the last couple of years,man ive recieved some of the best advice. but the level of dissrespect has left me cold.my teacher ray who loves this site,but doesnt see it often because of accessibility,was absolutley mortified at this thread.so hopefully the misinformed will see this as a stepping stone 2 learn something about themselves.because i never again want to qualify my tastes to a bunch of strangers.a waste of time. play drums.opinions about drummers in a setting like this is arbitary.

A little advice to those that get offended from what they read on the net:
Don't be.
Just disagree and move on. They're just words written by people. Nothing more. The net is FILLED with folks saying all kinds of stuff. Running into someone or something that says something that rubs you the wrong way is inevitable. I certainly would not allow that to dictate if I viewed a site that I liked again or not. Just shrug it off. No biggie.
I will say that future posts containing insults/attacks on other people posting here will get deleted. If you disagree with a post, SAY SO and state why. No need to insult the person posting the thing you disagree with.

... Here, here!
... but i guess i still dont quite understand why Jack would think TCampbell sux, or why Nikk thinks Cater & Cobham 'suck' [altho some1 "being an a-hole" is another issue!!] - but that's OKAY. No sweat off my brow, really [nor any1 elses eother, if u think about it], cuz I'm not tryin to change their opin [not that i could!] & theyre not gonna change mine - but we can still have a lil 'verbal volley - exchanging ideas & philosophies in a positive, healthy manner [hopefully minus all the !@#$%&* insults! LOL]....

OK, no problem. I'll not say "sucks" or unnecesarily negative words anymore. I have no problem sating my opinion more eloquently for one.

Nikk....
Say whatever you want, use the language you want. I just don't want people insulting or attacking others.

I agree with Mr. Van Horn. Putting great drummers down is foolishness. I love listening to Vinnie, but I love WATCHing Dave even more. And if you asked either of them "Who's the best", they'd both pick some other drummer.

...I 3rd, 4th, & 5th that motion.
Also [here we go again-LOL], [along w/ the Wecklmeister] -
- I think Vinnie's pretty darn exciting to watch as well - the infamous '1984 clinic tour!!!!;' Buddy Rich Mem. Schol. Conc. Tp. 2 [esp. the finale]!!; MDFest 2000 w/ Karizma!;
- Virgil's incredible to watch [his 'Power Drum'g" vid; MDFest '97!!!] - &
- I saw Gary Novak w/ Chick's 2nd incantation of the Elek. Bd. - & all eyes were on him at that show. Simply smokin'. {Funny thing is, a good drummer friend of mine, now in a major Nashville country-rock act, was sayin, "no1 in the world could replace Weckl in that situation" - & he happily [?!] 8 his words....

heres a nice bookend:"You can really tell that this guy wanted to play the drums.He's been so imitated because he's had so much to offer.He's such a shining example of what can happen with the right combination of talent,dedication,and just getting down in it and doing your homework.He's one of the greatest.-vinnie colaiuta-speaking about dave weckl in oct. 1999
